The Riverview Compassion Team is made up of a group of amazingly talented and compassionate individuals that serve the Riverview community and its surrounding areas. They practice as Licensed Mental Health Counselors, Licensed Social Workers, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists, Licensed Registered State Interns, and Professional Life Coaches. Our Team Core Beliefs are grounded in prioritizing God, Family, and Self-Care before service to ensure that our professionals are at their best emotionally and spiritually within their personal lives so that they can provide the highest quality of care for our clients. Our Riverview Compassion team engages in continued professional development throughout the year to stay up to date on effective intervention strategies for improving the mental health of our clients.
Thomia Thompson, LHMC

Thomia "Mia" has over a decade of counseling experience and brings to counseling a cross section of her experiences in Christian ministry, education and the business sectors. As a licensed mental health counselor and Christian Life Coach, Mia is deeply committed to aiding individuals and families in navigating life's challenges. Utilizing a blend of Biblically Informed care and therapeutic strategies such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Play Therapy, and more, Mia offers compassionate guidance to address a range of issues faced by children, adolescents, adults, and families.

Mia's expertise extends to couples counseling, where she is certified in SYMBIS and Level 2 Gottman Couples therapy, aiding couples in restoring and enriching their connections. Moreover, she specializes in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), highly effective interventions for trauma, anxiety, depression, and various mental health conditions.

In her role as the Clinical Director of Renewed Integrative Counseling, Mia leads our Clinical Team and provides support to all Site Leads within the practice. Whether you're grappling with life transitions, grief, marital challenges, family dynamics, academic stressors, or career aspirations, Mia offers steadfast support and practical solutions to empower you on your journey to healing and growth.
Danielle Filip, LMHC

Danielle is a Licensed Mental Health Counseling who has a heart for serving adolescents, adults, couples and families in the community. Danielle tailors her counseling services to each individual need of her client and enjoys helping her clients’ succeed in meeting a wide variety of goals. Danielle’s expertise extends to issues including anxiety and mood disorders, trauma, ADHD, panic disorder, bipolar II, family and relationship conflict, grief/loss, codependency, career counseling, parenting, premarital and marriage counseling and Christian counseling. Danielle operates from a trauma-informed lens and takes an eclectic approach to counseling that includes utilizing techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Emotion-Focused Therapy. Danielle sees clients aged 8 and older.
Danielle loves walking aside clients on their journey to better mental health, greater relationships and healthy coping skills that lead to long-term positive change and higher quality of life. By merging evidence-based modalities with faith-based principles, she helps clients learn how to be renewed and transformed even amidst their trials.
Danielle is a certified SYMBIS Pre-Marriage Assessment Facilitator and is trained in
utilizing Gottman techniques for couples therapy.
Monica Stuart, R-MHCI

Monica is a Licensed Registered Intern with 4+ years working in the mental health and behavioral health field as a behavior therapist & counselor. Monica’s specialty is creating a space where clients feel comfortable to express their emotions and to discover underlying traumas and issues. Monica is devoted and passionate about helping clients to overcome past traumas, couple’s disputes, and issues dealing with daily life. Monica has experience working with children, teens, and adults. She has helped clients with prenatal/postnatal support, parenting, relationship issues, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, developing communication skills, trauma, and co-dependency.

Monica employs a variety of methods to help facilitate growth including Christian Counseling, The Gottman Method for Couples, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Art Therapy, Play Therapy, Infant-Mental Health Counseling, and Couples Counseling. Faithe’s passion for helping others serves as the foundation for her work with clients. She strives to create an environment that is a safe place for clients to be themselves. She sees the therapeutic process as a team effort in which she works with her clients to explore problems, set and achieve goals, heal from past traumas, develop coping mechanisms, and build upon their strengths. She has a heart for working with women and couples experiencing infertility, children, and adolescents, as well as military members and their families. As a provider, Faithe recognizes the significant impact that mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression have on one’s ability to manage day-to-day responsibilities. Her goal is to help her clients develop skills and techniques that empower them to better cope with these challenges in order to reach their full potential.
Faithe understands that for many people, their faith serves as a source of strength during hard times and looks forward to helping clients grow and build their relationship with God. She looks to implement a variety of evidence-based techniques when helping her clients including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and Christian Counseling.

Patricia Mendez is a dedicated Christian-based supervised mental health intern committed to helping adults, children, and families on their journey toward healing and self-discovery. With a strong foundation in Gestalt therapy and over 7 years of experience counseling and supporting elementary school children and their families in the education system, she believes in the power of the present moment and the importance of a client-centered and holistic approach to mental and emotional well-being.
Patricia strives to provide clients with a safe, empathetic, and judgment-free space where they can be themselves and explore their unique situations. Whether you are struggling with anger, fear, depression, anxiety, or any other type of mental health challenge, her main goal is to help you gain insight into how you think, feel, and behave, while developing effective strategies to manage stress, regulate emotions, build healthier relationships, and navigate challenging situations more adaptively.

Jamaruz is currently a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern who has a heart and passion for children and families. Not limiting himself to just serving the facet of youth, Jamaruz brings over 6+ years of experience with Children, Adolescents, and Adults, along with Couples and Substance Abuse Prevention. Offering Individual and Family Therapy, Jamaruz ensures to provide the most informative interventions to help bring purpose, awareness, and knowledge that you can apply to your daily life.
Therapeutically, Jamaruz uses the most known modalities, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused Therapy, and Strength-Based Interventions as a goal to help families become Renewed and Restored.

Cameron is a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Therapist Intern with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Her passion for helping others heal is deeply rooted in her personal life experiences, which inspired her journey into mental health care. With her experience working with children and adults from diverse backgrounds, Cameron effectively incorporates various therapeutic approaches, including Psychodynamic Therapy, Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, integrated biblical counseling, and Internal Family Systems. Her holistic and empathetic approach ensures that each client feels understood and supported on their path to well-being.
A lifelong learner, Cameron is committed to mastering best practices in mental health care. She creates a safe and nurturing environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, fostering growth, change, healing, and freedom. Jessica Dupree, R-MHCI

Jessica believes that with the leading of the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and proven therapies, like Cognitive Behavioral and Emotionally Focused, one can walk the journey to find healing from life’s burdens, past and present emotional, physical, and mental pains, and the worries that life can bring. Everyone needs a safe place to explore their emotions, pains, and traumas that is peaceful, relaxing, positive, and encouraging and Jessica provides that space for her clients. She works with adolescents, individuals, couples, and families, creating a unique treatment plan that is tailored toward the goals and needs of the client(s).

Currently pursuing her Master’s degree at Colorado Christian University, Bethany brings a compassionate and client-centered approach to her work. She is passionate about supporting individuals through life’s challenges, focusing on building resilience and fostering personal growth.
